Thirteen years ago, I dreamed of a career as a makeup artist. In my circle, there were few who believed that my passion could become a real profession. I didn’t let the doubts sway me and chose to pursue what fulfilled and excited me. The journey wasn’t always easy; each challenge was, however, a valuable lesson. Looking back, I’m grateful for every rise and every fall, as these moments pushed me toward my dreams. Today, I am living the career I had envisioned.
I spend most of my time working in Prague, but I come from Brno, where I first dedicated myself fully to makeup. I completed a prestigious makeup course at AOFM Academy in London, where I gained a wealth of valuable experience. It was a fantastic opportunity to see how makeup is perceived by women from various parts of the world and what it means to them. This experience has influenced my work. I believe that every woman is unique, and therefore, applying fixed dogmas or the latest trends uniformly to everyone is not the way forward.
Shortly after returning from England, I started working for Estée Lauder, where I accumulated countless experiences. The daily makeup practice here is something I highly recommend to all aspiring makeup artists. Over time, I began to gain experience in fashion shows and photo shoots for lifestyle magazines and other projects. I was, for instance, part of the team that did makeup for models at Fashion Week in Paris and London, an experience I fondly remember.
After thirteen years in this field, I can proudly say that I am doing what I love. I teach women how to highlight their beauty and help them gain healthy self-confidence through natural makeup. And that’s not all. Being a makeup artist allows me to push the boundaries of beauty. It’s a form of art and self-expression that I find incredibly fulfilling.
